Install on Wix
On this page
Wix lets you add custom code to every page. That is how you add the script tag.
Before you start#
Wix has its own Multilingual feature with real language addresses. If search traffic in other languages matters to you, read SEO and the script tag first.
Wix's help page says your site must be published and have a connected domain. It names no plan on that page. Other guides say a paid Premium plan is needed. A connected domain normally comes with a paid plan, but check your own dashboard: verify.
Steps#
- In the Wix dashboard open Settings, then Custom Code (under development and integrations).
- Choose Add Custom Code. Paste the tag from your ResilientLang install page. Name it "ResilientLang".
- Apply it to All pages (Wix includes pages you add later) and place it in the Head. For loading, choose to load the code on every page view; the once-per-visit choice is untested with our loader: verify.
- Apply the change and publish the site. Whether the tag runs in the Wix editor preview is not stated by Wix: verify.
Limits#
- Wix's custom-code page does not say whether you can change the security policy header. Treat the options that need it as unavailable: verify.
- Since December 2025 Wix blocks some older snippets under its frontend security measures until the provider updates them. Whether our tag is affected has not been tested on a live Wix site: OPEN.
- Wix says Google Tag Manager and analytics code do not work through custom code. Do not use Tag Manager to load this tag on Wix.
- Wix does not support problems caused by third-party snippets.
- If you change the primary domain, Wix deletes the existing snippets. Add the tag again.
- Wix's page does not say whether it keeps
data-*attributes on a pasted script tag. Check after publishing that the attributes are present: verify. - Wix Multilingual translates text and offers subfolder, subdomain and parameter addresses. Wix's overview page does not mention hreflang or plans, so check those in Wix: verify.
- If you turn on Wix Multilingual as well, do not run both on the same pages. Wix would already be translating the text.
- Text from Wix apps (stores, bookings) may appear after the loader finishes. The loader watches for changes, but test your own pages: verify.
Test#
Open the live site, choose a language, and reload. Then block the translation host in your browser tools and confirm that the page falls back to your original language.
