Team roles
On this page
Every person in your account has one of four roles. The role is checked on every request, so a change takes effect on the next page load.
| Role | Can do |
|---|---|
| Viewer | Read sites, translations, usage and the licence status. |
| Editor | Everything a viewer can, plus create and edit sites, edit translations, and publish. |
| Admin | Everything an editor can, plus manage secret API keys and settings. Must use two-factor sign-in. |
| Owner | Everything, including billing and creating a new licence key. Must use two-factor sign-in. |
Managing people#
- Only owners and admins manage members.
- An admin can give the Editor or Viewer role. An admin cannot change another admin or an owner.
- Nobody can change their own role.
- An account always keeps at least one owner.
Owners and admins invite people from the Team page. See Invite teammates. The sign-in module also has functions to list members, change a role and remove a person. Whether the Team page shows them yet is verify.
Reviewers and translators#
People who only need to translate or review certain languages do not need a role. They are invited as collaborators for chosen languages. See Reviewers and translators.
What the Forbidden page means#
If you see a page that says you do not have permission, your role is too low for that page. Ask an owner or admin.
Two-factor sign-in#
Owners and admins must use an authenticator app. See Create your account.
Support access#
Our support staff cannot sign in as you by themselves. A support session needs a stated reason of at least 10 characters. It lasts at most 30 minutes. It is read-only: every change is refused. The dashboard shows a banner for as long as it lasts, and it appears in your audit log.
The API keys page and the licence page are hidden from support sessions. The owner approved these rules on 2026-10-28 (decision D49).
